The hills are alive …

It’s safe to say that when I took the bike out on Wednesday, it wasn’t music ringing out in the west Somerset hills but the painful sound of my breathing as I struggled up endless hills – though the cycle back down them was exhilarating, to say the least.

Unfortunately, despite the promise of the warmth of the day, I remained unimpressed by the views. Yes, the daffodils and crocuses are out in this neck of the woods, but the landscape that will sing in late spring and summer was, with the dull grass and weak skies of March, just uninspiring.

But the hills … they were breathtaking.

  1. Uninspiring? Certainly not. In fact a very good picture, well composed and exposed and interesting light.

Why do other people’s photos (and paintings) always seem more interesting than mine?
