Under the Ionian sun

I didn’t post yesterday due to being on a friend’s computer with no access to my own photos, but here I am again. Unlike yesterday, which was warm even as Ally’s three year old son and I were shutting up the chickens as the sun set behind us (“why does the sun paint the sky like that when it goes to bed?”), today is Cold. And this is me saying that. It’s dull, grey and Cold. Gah.

I’m feeling a vague pull towards warmer climates – somewhere like the Greek island of Kefalonia, basking in the Ionian sea, which was my holiday destination a few years ago. We stayed in the working harbour town of Sami, on the south of the island, far removed from the dreaded tourist spots.

Blue skies, warm seas, amazing food, a relaxed and happy atmosphere … who could ask for more?

  1. Never been to that island, only to Crete, Chios, Corfu, Zakynthos and the mainland, but I suppose all the islands have that same relaxed, warm atmosphere. Mind you, I can’t see me ever going to Greece again, we don’t do holidays now!

  2. Never been to Kephalonia, just Thassos and the Peloponnese region. Your picture brings back many memories, thanks.
